Miss Chaine

Owner/Director/Teacher

Chainé has been dancing under the direction of her mother, Susan Mendence, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island since she was 2 years old. She had an instant connection to dancing and has been performing and competing ever since. Chainé started competing at the age of 5 and has won numerous awards including high scores, overall placements and the titles of Miss Dance Ovations 2007 and Miss Dance USA Massachusetts 2007. Her dream has always been to follow in her mother’s footsteps and own her own dance studio where she can share her same love for dance to children of all ages.

She started to further pursue her dream of owning her own studio in 2004 when she enrolled in the Dance Teacher’s Club of Boston’s Dance Educator Training Course. Here she studied Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Ballroom, and Children’s work and began a three year program that would begin to help give her more of the training she would need to own her own studio one day. At the Dance Education Training Course, Chainé was awarded the Audree Wilson Scholarship in her first year for having the highest performance and written test scores in every subject of dance. In her third and final year she was awarded with the Pam Feri award that was given for the highest overall written and performance scores in ballet throughout all three years of the training course. In 2007, Chainé began choreographing some of her first competition pieces.

It was also in this year that she moved to Orlando, FL to work for the Walt Disney Company performing in many of their most popular parades and shows including Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade and Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade. Since this wonderful experience from 2007-2008 working with Mickey Mouse himself, Chainé has taught and choreographed for studios in RI and FL. Her students and choreography have won numerous awards including special awards, high scores, national overall high scores, and the titles of Mini Miss Step Up to Dance 2009, Miss Step Up to Dance 2009, and Little Miss Cinderella Talent 2009.

In 2012, Chainé finally took hold of her dream and opened her own studio. She is looking forward to a big future and teaching children the wonderful art of dance.
