Little Stars

Ages 4-5 

Little Stars offers multiple class subjects to our preschool-age dancers! Our combination classes offer multiple subjects and fun new experiences to these beginner dancers. No experience is required. Basic terminology is taught in each subject, as well as furthering muscle development and musicality. We mix creative expression with structured development.

Acrobatics

Acrobatics is a style that combines basic dance techniques with acrobatic tricks and elements. Tumbling elements and partnering are also learned in this class. Muscle development is required for this class, and Acrobatic levels are separated by tumbling abilities. 

Acrobatics 1 is for students Ages 6 and over who are working on basic tumbling skills such as cartwheels, backbends, and walkovers. 

Acrobatics 2 is for those students Ages 6 and over who have mastered walkover and are working on back handspring drills or have their back handspring and more.

Leotard and tights of any color, tank tops, sports bras, leggings, bike shorts are also allowed. Long hair must be pulled back off of face, no jewelry. 

Ballet 

Our ballet classes are placed based on skill level and age. We offer classes for beginner through advanced. Our classes are structured to focus on barre technique, center work, and across the floor. All ballet dancers participate in our annual Winter Ballet.

Contemporary

Contemporary dance encourages dancers to be versatile in their expressions and to portray a wide array of movement styles and emotions. It focuses on spatial and body awareness, use of body weight, floor work, technique, efficiency of muscle usage, musicality, and safe body alignment.

Jazz 

Jazz is an exploration of style and presentation. Classes emphasize musicality and body alignment, conditioning, stretch and strengthening, rhythm and stylization, as well as fun and innovative choreography.

Jumps and Turns

This class is designed to work on strength, flexibility, and the 'tricks' of dance. Improve your dance technique through this power packed class! No choreography is taught in this class, though short combos might be used to link skills together.

Hip Hop

Hip Hop incorporates a variety of old and new urban dance styles. The dancing represents body movements that go with the beat and rhythm of hip-hop music. Hip-hop dancing is very dynamic and helps the dancers improve flexibility, develop body balance, rhythm, musicality, and coordination.

Lyrical

Lyrical is an expressive style of dance that allows the dancer to interpret and express the emotions, lyrics and story associated with a piece of music.This class includes a proper warm-up, stretches, isolations and across-the-floor progressions.

Musical Theatre

Musical Theatre is a brand new style class that brings Broadway to our studio! Students will get the chance to learn scenes from Broadway Jr. plays. They will explore their triple threat side with singing, acting, and dancing all rolled into one. They will get to perform multiple times throughout the year on stage in our Winter show as well as our Spring Showcase!

Musical Theatre classes will be taught by Miss Lillianna McGovern, TDC Alumni 2024.

Dress Code:
Comfort is key for our musical theatre classes. Nothing too baggy or hard to move in. No jeans or jewelry.

Tap

Tap is a classic form of dance that not only involves how one looks while dancing, but also how one sounds. Tap is a fun, upbeat, rhythmic style of dance that allows the dancer to develop their coordination, balance, rhythm and musicality.

Pointe 

A more advanced form of Ballet, utilizing pointe shoes. This Class is based upon teacher discretion. Students must have a strong dance background. This class also incorporates multiple strength exercises for the dancers’ feet and ankles.

Evaluations must be made in order to be placed into our Pointe classes.
